In September 2024 AI Zerocaliber Ltd launched its second-generation power management solution. The product addresses applications for remote sensing, buoys, USVs and other IoT long-term operations that require energy surveillance, conservation or power switching.
Power Management Demo
Currently, the first generation of our power management products serve in USVs and Buoys in Cyprus for more than two years, supporting the local research community.
The second generation of the product was demonstrated at Breaking the Surface conference (BtS 2024) this September, where researchers and industry experts had the opportunity to evaluate its potential in respect to robotics and marine applications.
Kick-Off BtS 2024
The demonstration showcased our product, and an example web-based dashboard was presented. Discussions were held about its capabilities and configuration options with potential users. The product will be available for orders from February of 2025. Please contact us for more information and details. We will be happy to discuss your needs and provide a solution tailored to your specific application.
Our power-management solution offers unique capabilities in the remote sensing market. The set of functions includes the following features for applications that require long-term battery operation or need for energy management of small loads (between 15W-50W):
power conversion
power surveillance
power remote control
other undisclosed data logging capabilities
Our solution provides different options for remote connectivity and control for IoT applications. It also allows for automated control, depending on the application or mode of operation.
Our architecture provides unique customizations per application or client. Our clients can select from a pool of power providers or other features that can be integrated in any combination. An example application and configuration can be seen below:
In a compact volume of 1 liter, the unit offers a selection of power outputs and controls suitable for a wide range of applications.

The unit is expected to work from a 12V power source, usually a battery, and provides power selectively to different types of loads like computing modules, ethernet cameras, sensors etc. Wide input voltage range is supported depending on features (please contact us to provide a solution suitable to your needs). Loads can be remotely controlled by command, scheduled or a combination of these two. Firmware and software improvements are on-going to enhance ease of use, adding functionality.
You may see an example setup shown in “Breaking the Surface” conference in Croatia, powering 2 Raspberry PI 4B and an PoE camera.

Customers have the option to create their application specific user interfaces at their preferred platforms using our industry standard interfaces for remote access. For simpler applications where there is no integration platform available we offer our own web-based tool to control the product. The tool provides real-time controls and measurements of the system. Customer branding is also supported.

Our company introduced the first-generation power management system during our involvement in the MARI-Sense project. The target applications are Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and Buoys. All the boards produced under the project are utilized in buoys and USVs in Cyprus.
We collected important feedback from the use of our systems in the field and we are already working on providing the second generation of this product soon.
